Mark Perkins, MA, PhD, LTCL, LRAM, FRSA, CEO and owner, MPL International Ltd


Mark heads up MPL and coordinates the team and overall offer. He has extensive experience of training European company and government officers across a wide spectrum of specialisations including teaching business English communication skills in financial and technical contexts. He is Senior Fellow of Collegium Prometricum Poland, an MBA school, where is the director of online learning in English and on-site courses in Cambridge. MPL is also active in China with its distance provision of training for university and school students.

Background

 Mark was first educated at King’s College, Cambridge University, where he read classics for his degree. He also has an MA and PhD in Applied Linguistics (Exeter and Leicester universities), as well as a diploma in teaching from Trinity College, London. He began his teaching career in Italy as a lecturer in English at the University of Bari, and followed this with three years in Prague as a lecturer in English at the Charles University. In Sweden, he was head of teacher-training (English) at the Folk University of Sweden (Gothenburg), and he taught business communication skills in major banks and companies such as SKF, Volvo Car, and SCA. Mark has experience in negotiating deals regarding the sale and licensing of intellectual property, and he puts this real-life experience into MPL courses. Mark is Senior Fellow of Collegium Prometricum, Poland, and heads up the English part of the MBA programme online and on-site in Cambridge.

The MPL team comprises a core group of highly qualified teachers and trainers based in Cambridge. The wider team is dispersed internationally and delivers our regular online courses. Our peripheral team includes subject matter experts available for on-site and offline training.
